PART 1 - Gary

American Dream

People define the American dream as freedom and success.

In the early days of the United States, the American Dream was a way to promote the United States. Americans promoted that the United States is a free society, which can accept any race, identity and colour, and everyone has the opportunity to realize their dreams. They used this method to attract people to immigrate to the United States and began to continuously expand abroad.

But this is a kind of obvious idealism. However, most people are immersed in the yearning for a better life. They have not found that behind this idealism is the constant consolidation of the class hierarchy. The people in the picture are standing on the steps where gold coins are piled up. The more people who immigrate to the United States, the stronger their steps will be, and this class will become more and more stable and difficult to cross.

Nowadays, the media even more intuitively use pictures like "people standing on the money" to describe the American dream today. When the social structure of the United States is stable, the personal ceiling becomes clear, and the profits of national expansion are absorbed by the upper class. After ordinary people discover the cruel reality behind the American dream, disappointment and anger will follow, as well as anger. The rejection of lies and dissatisfaction with society. This is when the American dream is broken.
